Abstract
The purpose of this research was to investigate the role of mass media in social vitality and sports participation (study of employees of Pars Oil Refinery). The present research is descriptive-correlative in terms of practical purpose and in terms of collecting information in a field form. The statistical population included employees of Pars Oil Refinery. According to the obtained information, 900 people are working in this refinery. To select research samples, 269 people were randomly selected based on Morgan's random table. The measurement tools of this research were three standard questionnaires on the amount and type of media consumption with 11 questions by Mahmoudian et al. (2014), the 23-question employee organizational vitality questionnaire by Karolf (2007) and the 22-question sports participation questionnaire by Chaman Pira et al. 2018. A description was used to describe the individual characteristics of the statistical sample.Also, research hypotheses were tested using path analysis using PLS software. The results of the research showed that mass media plays a role in the social vitality of oil refinery employees, mass media plays a role in the sports participation of oil refinery employees, and also social vitality plays a role in the sports participation of oil refinery employees.s.
