Abstract
Considering the importance of physical activity and sports and the effective factors in the tendency of citizens towards sports, it seems necessary to adopt spaces in the city for people's sports participation. The purpose of this research was to investigate the factors affecting people's sports participation in Tehran's recreational and sports spaces with a case study of Chitgar Lake. This is a collection of descriptive and analytical studies that were applied in terms of purpose and in terms of data collection in the field. The statistical population of the research included all citizens of Tehran over 15 years of age, and among these people, the sample size was selected based on Morgan's table (n=384) by simple random sampling. In order to analyze the factors affecting people's sports participation, the questionnaire of factors affecting people's tendency to exercise in parks (Mohammadi et al., 1402) was used.
