The aim of the present study was to pathology the sports coach education system in Iran. The present study was a mixed type (a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods). In the qualitative part, the opinions of 18 experts were used until theoretical saturation was reached, and in the quantitative part, 394 sports coaches were used. The research tool was a researcher-made questionnaire derived from studies and interviews, which was used after confirming the face and construct validity (KMO=0.91). Data analysis was based on the structural equation model, which was carried out using the LISREL software version 8.8. Based on the findings, it was determined that the pathology of the sports coach education system in Iran contained 12 main components; Also, the results of the second-order confirmatory factor analysis showed that all factor loadings have good explanatory power and the factors of policy, budget, information systems, content, information, compliance with standards, duration, educational methods, individual factors, instructors, level of competence and evaluation were identified as factors affecting the pathology of the sports coach education system in Iran. Designing the Iranian sports coach education system by considering the obstacles and challenges identified in this study can be effective in the development of sports in the country.
